Caroline & Matthew were married at the Royal Toby Hotel in Rochdale. As you might expect with a December wedding in Rochdale, the weather was far from perfect, but the hotel was a perfect location with plenty of space to do the family group photographs inside by the fireplace.
Alexandra Court is a great setting for smaller Cheshire weddings, I particularly liked the mature gardens at the rear. It made a great setting for the lovely Gill and Matthew’s intimate family wedding with a really relaxed feel to to the day which I think comes through in the wedding photographs.

Melody & Luke’s were married at The Bridge Chapel in Liverpool. After the ceremony we headed over to Allerton Towers nearby. This turned out to be a fantastic location for wedding photography in Liverpool. In just a few minutes we were able to capture some great informal portraits and had great fun doing it!

Maria & Peter were married at the Liverpool Cotton Exchange Registry Office, and held their wedding reception at the amazing panoramic Restaurant in the West Tower overlooking Liverpool, the Wirral, Cheshire and even North Wales.

Jo & Shaun were married at Saint Mary’s Church in Wallasey on the Wirral and at The Grove House Hotel. We also took some photographs at the sea front by Liverpool Bay.

Stu and Sarah, saw photos with Jo and Shaun and they are absolutely the best wedding photos I have ever seen! They have captured everything you could possibly think of, and more, and I would definately book you for our children’s wedding.

I think Suzanne & Andrew must have chosen the best day of the year so far for their Lake District wedding at the Punch Bowl Inn in Cumbria. The weather was fantastic, the location perfect and everybody was in a great relaxed mood. What more could you ask for in a wedding!

In a change from wedding photography, I’ve been experimenting with how I light portraits recently. Today the subject was my willing assistant Tom (AKA Thing 2 in the Mottershead household) and the location was our front garden on the Wirral. According to Tom, he looks really cool in his aeroplane top, and I agree 100%.

I was back on the M6 from Liverpool to Cumbria this afternoon for Suzanne & Andrew’s wedding at The Punch Bowl Inn. This is one of my very favourite venues for wedding photography, set in the beautiful Lake District, and the weather was perfect.
